There are a few things to remember when going to a Mexican grill: drop the flour tortillas and forego the chips! Salsa isn’t so bad besides the sodium content, but the chips and flour tortillas can really ruin your calorie count! A flour tortilla on the burrito adds a whopping 310 calories! The chips? I don’t EVEN want to talk about it! STEP AWAY FROM THE CHIPS!
I always get a “naked” burrito from Qdoba (or “burrito in a bowl.”)
I start with black beans, and then I add grilled chicken or grilled steak. I add Pico de Gallo and Salsa (fiery habanero for me, I like it HOT!) Lettuce and Fajita Vegetables are my add-ons for bulk and flavor! It all ends up looking like this:
395 Calories, 37g Protein, 34g Carbs, 12g Fat, 18g Fiber, 1075 mg Sodium.
Another option is 3 tacos. I choose a crispy taco shell, then 1 grilled chicken, 1 grilled steak, and 1 pulled pork taco. Add Pico de Gallo and Salsa, Lettuce and Fajita Vegetables. Here’s how it looks:
